Apocalips has existed for twelve years in one form or another. It started in an abandoned gravel quarry. Later it moved to a rundown meat processing plant. But it's been there a long time, although many don't know about it.
Apocalips is a women's wrestling fed unlike others. It isn't large or flashy. There's no jumbotron screen or fireworks. There's no merchandising. Usually there's not even a medic on duty.
Apocalips is a small, secret women's wrestling fed in the small, dying town of Dolor, Pennsylvania. Not many know about Apocalips. It's only shown on illegal, closed circuit channels in a handful of larger cities places. The wealthy come from far away to watch and bet on it. The town officials know about it but whistles innocently and look away, counting their sizable piles of hush money.
Currently, the fed is run by Marlow Mogazzi, the never present big-fish-in-a-
small-pond. His "superiors" in the less-than-legal "corporation" employing him. Apocalips isn't one of their biggest ventures, but one of their favorites and he's been charged to see that it works. They allow Marlow to offer just enough money to make the matches worth the while of the women paid to fight in the derelict ring. But that's not the main reason these women participate.
For some women, it's what they hope is the start of a long, illustrious wrestling career. For others, it's where they've ended up after years of hard work and having nothing to show for it. To the rest of the women stepping in the ring, it's a way to take out aggression on top of getting some extra bucks. For all of them, Apocalips beats the alternatives and it's one of the most honest, if brutal and illegal, dollars they can earn in this tiny town.
